Under certain conditions, the shaded solar cell module in a series branch will be used as a load to consume the energy generated by other illuminated solar cell modules. The shaded solar cell module will heat up at this time, which is the hot spot effect. This effect can seriously damage solar cells. Part of the energy generated by the illuminated solar cell may be consumed by the shaded cell. In order to prevent the solar cell from being damaged by the hot spot effect, it is better to connect a bypass diode in parallel between the positive and negative poles of the solar cell module to avoid the energy generated by the illuminated module being consumed by the shaded module.
How to clean the components of a home photovoltaic power station?
If there is heavy snow accumulated on the components after the snow, it needs to be cleaned. You can use soft objects to push the snow down, but be careful not to scratch the glass. The components have a certain load-bearing capacity, but you cannot step on the components to clean them, which will cause hidden cracks or damage to the components and affect the life of the components. It is generally recommended not to wait until the snow is too thick before cleaning to avoid excessive icing of the components.
Maintain the components that need to be checked regularly according to the product supplier's instructions. The main maintenance work of the system is to wipe the components. In areas with heavy rain, manual wiping is generally not required. Cleaning is done about once a month in the non-rainy season. In areas with heavy dustfall, the number of wiping can be increased as appropriate. In areas with heavy snowfall, heavy snow should be removed in time to avoid affecting power generation and uneven shading caused by snow melting, and trees or debris that block components should be cleared in time.
The cleaning of photovoltaic components in photovoltaic power stations should be carried out in the early morning, evening, night or rainy days. This is mainly to prevent artificial shadows from causing hot spot effects in photovoltaic arrays, which in turn causes power loss or even component burning. Cleaning operations in the morning and evening must be carried out during the period of weak sunlight. Sometimes cleaning work can also be carried out in rainy weather. At this time, the cleaning process will be relatively efficient and thorough because of the help of precipitation. However, sunlight can sometimes partially penetrate a thinner rain layer, and the power station will also have a small amount of power output at this time, so attention should be paid to personnel safety to prevent leakage. The impact of power loss and hot spot effects caused by cleaning should also be evaluated.
Since large photovoltaic power stations occupy a large area and have a large number of components, and the time suitable for cleaning operations is short every day, the cleaning work of photovoltaic power stations should be planned in cleaning cycles and divided into areas according to the specific conditions of the power field, so that human resources can be fully utilized and the cleaning work can be completed with less manpower. Small power stations can also be cleaned at any time as needed. Considering that once a component in a series circuit is blocked by turbid objects, it will affect the power generation of the entire component
